Zelnite®

- Ingredients：Each mL contains 166.5 mcg of sodium selenite pentahydrate, equivalent to 50 mcg/mL of selenium.
- Daily dosage：The recommended daily dosage for adults is 100 mcg (equivalent to one 2 mL ampoule of Zelnite®). For the treatment of selenium deficiency, 200 mcg of selenium daily (equivalent to two 2 mL ampoules of Zelnite®) is recommended. Based on blood selenium levels and individual clinical needs, the daily dose may be increased up to 500 mcg (equivalent to one 10 mL vial of Zelnite®)
- Method of administration：Zelnite® is administered in one single dose by slow intravenous injection; or mixed thoroughly with 100 mL of 0.9% saline solution, followed by intravenous injection. Zelnite® may also be mixed with intravenous nutrition infusions that do not contain vitamin C, then administered after thorough mixing.

Zelnite® is indicated for the treatment of selenium deficiency or the prevention of selenium deficiency in patients receiving parenteral nutrition.
- Manufactured using a proprietary API synthesis process and advanced analytical methods to ensure consistent product quality. Zelnite® is supplied as a ready-to-use injection that requires no dilution prior to administration, providing greater convenience in clinical practice.
- Following intravenous administration, sodium selenite is rapidly absorbed for incorporation into biologically active selenoproteins. Excess selenium is eliminated primarily through urinary excretion and, to a lesser extent, through exhalation.
- Compared with oral supplementation, intravenous administration provides immediate and complete systemic availability of selenium, which is particularly important for critically ill patients and patients receiving parenteral nutrition who may be unable to obtain adequate selenium through oral intake. International clinical nutrition guidelines recommend intravenous supplementation of trace elements, including selenium, when clinically indicated in patients receiving parenteral nutrition. Zelnite® provides a direct and reliable source of selenium for the treatment and prevention of selenium deficiency in these patient populations.

- This product is a nutritional supplement formulated with high-purity active selenium and vitamin E. It uses SelenOne®, TaiRx’s proprietary selenium ingredient, which is the only domestically produced selenium ingredient for use as a food additive in Taiwan.
